The Studio
Whether you’re a professional musician, just starting out, or enjoying the love of music as a hobby, Rob’s Spaceland is a boutique studio with a unique vibe, offering an eclectic blend of experience and talent to capture your project needs.
Regardless of whether sessions consist of a song, a demo, an entire album, or commercial voice recording/overdubbing/sound tracking for television, radio, or internet, the studio offers the necessary platforms for tracking, mixing, editing, and digital mastering services.
Although some bands or artists may want a producer as well as an engineer, we engineer and try to stay out of the creative way unless artists specifically desire additional song-writing, arrangement, or overall production advice. In other words, the artist decides how they want their music to sound without feeling as if their work is an opportunity for a producer to turn their music into something they do not want.
Naturally, at the artists’ request, we will give our recommendation as well as critically and actively listen during sessions to ensure they are on the right track in terms of tempo, tuning and options. However, we try not to infringe on the creative aspect of projects unless otherwise requested by the creator.

Collaborators
While other producers and engineers have come and gone throughout space and time, American producer Rob Thornburn is one of the main collaborators at Rob’s Spaceland, available on call for more comprehensive sessions where artists may desire more than one engineer or set of ears, and can also provide additional services like mixing, mastering, and post-production. His experience of more than 20 years in Los Angeles as a professional musician and producer has given him a unique edge. His band Ginger had toured extensively during the 1970s with bands like Rush, Aerosmith, Kiss, and REO Speedwagon, while his other musical endeavors included the LA-based blues project Slowburn. These experiences, along with multiple other individual sessions and projects make the collaboration between Rob and Rob stylistically intriguing and versatile for groups or individual artists in need of knowledgeable insights and guidance during the recording process.
